A knife with a story.
The steel was initially cut out in April 2019 to make a knife similar to one of my first knife builds. I forget exactly what happened, but I ended up stopping the project early and tossed the knife into the “scrap” bin.
Well sort of. I actually missed the bin and unfinished steel fell behind a large bench and was forgotten. About 15 months later, I started the arduous process of cleaning out and remodeling my shop/garage. When I pulled out the workbench: there it was, covered in dust and crud. Once the remodeling was complete, I dedicated time to finishing this neglected piece.
The steel has a ferric chloride etch with a stonewashed finish and a slight false edge. The handle was made from a random piece of oak I found at a garage sale. The edge is razor sharp at 18 degrees with a 5-micron stropped finish.
Cuts through many, many boxes as if they were made of... paper.
